Jamal Bryant joins Occupy Movement

By admin, 16 December, 2011, No Comment

This guy is all over the place:

A group of African-American church leaders announced Wednesday their intention to join ranks with the Occupy movement in the nation’s capital, bolstering what some consider a mutual message of condemning income inequality and social injustice.
The move comes against the backdrop of evictions of Occupy protesters encamped in city parks and squares across the United States, raising questions about whether the two groups can capitalize on momentum gained by the months-long movement.
“We are occupying until poverty is eradicated,” pastor Jamal Harrison Bryant told reporters at the National Press Club in Washington, near where a core group of activists remains encamped.

Understanding the Essence of Christmas for Maximum Celebration

By Ifeoma, 24 December, 2010, No Comment

There is excitement in the air and the spirit of celebration is moving around! The shops are flooded with new stocks and multitudes are buying and buying. Gifts are being wrapped and sent to the recipients and greeting cards are exchanged. Christmas trees and the decors are out and the lights up with beautiful designs. But then, what is the essence of Christmas?

Every year, we look forward to celebrating Christmas with our family and friends. To some, it is a time to shut down all work and rest or travel. To others, it is a time to visit people and have fun with people they haven’t seen in a long time. For some, it is a time to cook that wonderful meal you never had time for and may be try out new recipes. All these are great and they really make a colourful season. I do enjoy all of that and I do look forward to them every year.

But when I considered all these, I wondered if these are all what Christmas is all about. It is certainly more than these. What then is the main reason for the celebration? Jesus Christ is the complete essence of Christmas. 25th Dec is the accepted birthday celebration of our Lord Jesus Christ and it has been named Christmas. This is a celebration that is honoured mostly by Christians.

The will of God is for the creation to honour and reverence His son Jesus. God showed His love to mankind by sending His son to die for us that we might be reconciled back to God, (John 3:16). Jesus Himself agreed to come and die despising the shame just to fulfil the burning desire of God. He was God, yet He left all to be born and to live like man, (Philip 2: 5-8). Thank God, His mission was successfully accomplished! (John 1:12)

Jesus Christ is the centre of the Church life. God’s definition of His son is totally faith defined. Our faith in God is never complete without a relationship with Jesus, (Heb 12:2). To be completely satisfied and full, we need to receive God’s word (Jesus) into our hearts, (Col 2:10).

Jesus is the essence of Christmas for maximum celebration. So, as we celebrate, we should remember that it is a time to appreciate God for sending His son for us. Also, it’s a time to examine our stand with God and our relationship with Jesus. Furthermore, it is a time to share God’s goodness and the good news with others.

Therefore, as we eat, drink and make merry, let’s not forget the essence of Christmas. An understanding of this reason behind the celebration will make it more fulfilling, peaceful and exciting for us. MERRY CHRISTMAS!

What else can you say about Christmas?

Jesus Women-Women Role and Contribution in Jesus Ministry

By Ifeoma, 14 December, 2010, No Comment

And the Lord God said, it is not good that the man should be alone; I will make him a help meet for him. (Genesis 2:18, KJV). God created women to be helpers fit for various needs of man. Jesus women were help meets indeed in Jesus Ministry. The women role and contribution in His ministry added to the fulfilment of His assignment on earth.

Jesus visit to earth started with a woman, Mary, who was a virgin and strong believer of God’s words. She believed the seemed impossible case by man’s standard and was used by God to birth His plan for man’s redemption. Not much was mentioned of Jesus father but Mary, the mother of Jesus was totally involved in Jesus ministry. She initiated His first miracle (turning of water into wine) at the wedding in Cana of Galilee, John 2: 1-11 and she followed Him up to His death and resurrection.

Jesus women ministered to His needs. Though Jesus was anointed, He still needed to take care of his flesh to be able to operate on earth. The women took care of His food and I believe His wears also, out of what they had. They used their money to serve Jesus.

Some of these women, including Mary Magdalene, Joanna and Susanna (Luke 8:2-3), were healed of evil spirits and infirmities. They became followers of Christ and showed their appreciation by ministering to His needs.

The women role and contribution in Jesus ministry were more than providing for His physical needs. One Jesus woman, broke a precious alabaster box of ointment and poured it on Jesus feet and wiped His feet with her hair in preparation for Jesus death. Mark 14:3-9

Furthermore, Mary Magdelene and Mary (mother of James), were the people who followed the body of Jesus until they saw where He was laid, Mark 15:47. Also, on the day He rose again, the same women with some other women went to anoint His body and were the first to discover that He had risen as He said, Luke 24:1-10

Again, what a wonderful thing that Jesus after His resurrection first appeared to a Jesus woman, Mary Magdalene. She became the first person to spread the good news that Jesus is alive, Mark 16:9-10.

What do these women have in common? They believed in Jesus Christ and His ministry and were deep followers of Christ. They served Him with their money, time and energy. They were always there for Jesus. They were ever grateful and thankful to Jesus Christ for their salvation and healing.

Many people claim to be Christians but are too busy to serve God. Some do not consider serving God with their money, time and energy as part of their Christian walk with God. God is still looking for men and women who will be available to be used by Him in fulfilling His plan and purpose for man.

The women contribution in Jesus ministry was written for us to learn and do likewise. Women are still playing important roles in the ministry of the gospel of our Lord Jesus. The question is what is your own role or contribution even now, whether you are a man or a woman?

What else can you say about Jesus women?

Search Me Oh God, and Know My Heart

By admin, 6 December, 2010, No Comment

by Evangelist Ella Townsend

Once there was a little city, and only a few men lived within it. And a great king came up against that city, and besieged it, and built a great bulwark against it. Now there lived in that same city a poor man who was very wise, and he by his wisdom he delivered and saved that city, yet, no man in that city even remembered to help that same man, who was poor.

What do you have that wasn’t given to you? It is the Most High God of Israel, who makes one poor and another rich. It is He who brings one low and another high, it is He who exalts one to success and brings down another from success. It is He through His marvelous mys-terious ways and wonders to preform, that He has chosen the foolish things of this world to express His power and love by confounding the wise and the rich of this world. It is God’s perfect LOVE that is to work through us, His creations, whom He has chosen to lift up in high places, those whom He has chosen to exalt with much ad to be His helping hands, in order to help bring the poor and needy and the homeless, up from the dust heaps, and lift the beggars from off the streets.

Have you not heard?: The poor will be with us always” Do you not know?: The poor will never cease from out of our land? Therefore, we who are the have’s, are to open our hands wide to our brothers and sisters who are the have not’s, those who are the poor and needy, and homeless and helpless in our land, willingly providing them with those things that will meet their spiritual and personal needs, whatever the need. Thus, giving them hope through our love and kindness with grace. For what does it profit our brother or sister who has a need, and is destitute of daily necessities such as , food, shelter, and clothing, for you to say to them, “God bless you, go in peace, be warm and filled”, but you do not give them the things they have need for their body?

The poor and needy, and the homeless, are reviled and all manner of evils are said and done against them. They are hard pressed and troubled on every side, many are crushed, and perplexed, and many are in despair, and persecuted. Yet, God has not forsaken them, nor has He cast them down, and they still remain unconquered or destroyed, for God has so decreed that the poor and needy will be with us always, and has charged us to help in caring for them.
LOVE: What is the truth about LOVE? The truth of love is that it lies within what we say and in what we do in our conduct and behavior toward others. The nature of LOVE has been imputed in us, it was given to us as an inheritance as part of our nature and characterist from God, whether we show it forth or not. If someone says, “I love God”, and hates the poor and needy, he is a liar. How can you say you really love God, when you see people daily begging on the street, and you do nothing to help them? How can you say God is in you, and that you love God whom you have not seen, and yet, there is no time for you to stop to offer a helping hand to your brother and sister on the street, whom you see daily? Is this how we LOVE our neigh-bor as ourselves works, by rendering lip service, as a sayer? Should we not be freely giving as workers who are doers of LOVE, with true hearts service as a reflection of God’s LOVE inside of us?. Love your neighbor as yourself, our neighbor is that man or woman or child on the streets who is in need of your helping hand. Search me O, God and know my heart!

JUSTICE: The test of the sincerity of the love in our hearts defines JUSTICE! To execute true JUSTICE is to show grace, mercy, and compassion as Jesus did toward the multitude of people whom He feed. JUSTICE defends those who are bowed down in anguish, it does not afflict troubles on them. JUSTICE delivers the poor and needy and homeless from the hands of hardships, and views poverty as an evil enemy of society. God through His LOVE for us became poor, so that we through HIS poverty might become rich, and He shut the mouth of “INJUCTICE” forever on our behalf, thus, giving us eternal hope. Lest anyone should boast. Even so, the breath of your very life, is given to you daily by God, who justified us by giving of His Only Begotten Son Jesus Christ on the cross. Has JUSTICE turned back? Does righteous-ness stand afar? Has truth in LOVE fallen in the streets, leaving equity with no hope or place to enter? A false balance is deception. Search me, O, God and Know my heart.

Moreover, in that great day of judgment of the nations the Lord will say, “Depart from me you cursed, into everlasting fire prepared for the devil and his angels. For when I was hungry, you gave Me no food to eat; I was thirsty, and you gave Me nothing to drink; I was a stranger, and you did not take Me from the streets; I was sick, and you did not visit me; I was naked, and you gave Me no clothing for My back; I was in prison, and you did not pray for Me.” Notwithstanding, those who are full now, may one day lose what they think they own, and will have a need to hire themselves out for food and shelter. And those who are poor now, may one day cease from being poor, and needy, and homeless, and have more than those who could have taken time to lend a helping hand. True LOVE and sincere JUSTICE are deeds not only during the Holidays, but year round… Search me, O, God and know my heart!

Thanks be to God for His indescribable gift!… the birth of our Lord Jesus Christ.

Unforgiveness-A Deadly Force to Resist If You Want a Fulfilling Future

By Ifeoma, 1 December, 2010, No Comment

Everyone often gets the opportunity to be mistreated, hurt, annoyed but what you do afterwards is what matters. Life is too short to allow this deadly force called unforgiveness to ruin it for you. “The hatred you’re carrying is a live coal in your heart – far more damaging to yourself than to them” Lawana Blackwell

To err is human; to forgive is divine, they say. But we have been given the power to forgive. The power of forgiveness is awesome because of the immense benefits to the one who forgives. It is all about what you want in life and how far you want to go. Unforgiveness is a force that has the power to influence, affect or control you and your future negatively.

When a person understands the effect of this deadly force, a red light flashes on the heart when unforgiveness comes knocking on the door. This force is so deadly that it has ruined many relationships, careers, businesses, led many to their sick beds and many to their early graves.

Why you must resist unforgiveness

  • It gives your offender the power to hurt you-Any time you remember the offence or see the person or even hear his/her name mentioned, you will get angry or be emotionally worked up. And if the offender is aware of this effect on you and he is a bad one, he may choose to add to the injury with more offences.
  • Your health is affected-When your anger is boiling; it increases your heartbeat, tightens your muscles, and causes aches and pains. And may lead to more serious medical issues if not checked on time.
  • Reduces your ability to focus-Unforgiveness has the power to disrupt the harmony of the brain waves, making you less able to focus and think clearly. This can lead to poor decision making, which is not good for your future!
  • It impedes your progress in life-When you are holding down someone, you too will go nowhere. This is the case with this deadly force. When you hold someone down in your heart, you are actually imprisoning yourself too.
  • It plants a seed of what you hate-A seed planted will produce fruit after sometime. Unforgiveness harboured within you will grow to produce same in you. You will find yourself doing exactly the very thing that was done to you (that you hated) to someone else.

This deadly force drains your energy, wastes your time for more profitable ventures. Unforgivenes shows you are weak because forgiveness is the attribute of the strong. Embrace the power of forgiveness and avoid the effects of this deadly force. Why give yourself all the stress for something or somebody that is not worth it.

Furthermore, the scriptures tell us to forgive if we want to be forgiven by our heavenly father. Matt 6:15, Matt 18:35, Luke 6:37, etc. Besides we are to be like Christ who forgave us our sins while we yet disobeying the commands of God. Romans 5:8, Act 5:31

“It really doesn’t matter if the person who hurt you deserves to be forgiven. Forgiveness is a gift you give yourself. You have things to do and you want to move on.” Real Live Preacher

What other reasons do you have for resisting unforgiveness?

Understanding Man’s Relationship with God

By admin, 25 November, 2010, No Comment

By:  Ngozi Nwoke

“What is man that You are mindful of him, and the son of (earthborn) man that You care for him”. Psalm 8:4. (AMP) God’s relationship with man is very important to Him. Man’s daily walk is a reflection of his relationship with God, whether good or bad. An understanding of God’s view of this connection will affect man’s way of life.

God instituted this relationship with man. He made man in His own likeness. (Gen 1:27). Man was created to be like God, think, speak and act like Him. Man was to have total dominion on earth while God rules in heaven. (Psalm 115:16) Also, He created man to fellowship with him. Gen 3:8 makes us to understand that God would come and fellowship with Adam in the garden in the cool of the day.

This relationship of God with man is motivated by His love for man. Even when Adam and Eve sinned, He still made a better covering (coats of skin) for them than the apron of fig leaves they made for themselves. (Gen 3:7, 21). And to express how much He loved man and desired a restoration of the kind of relationship He had with Adam and Eve, He gave His only son, Jesus Christ for mankind. (John 3:16)

Man violated this fellowship with God when Adam disobeyed God and obeyed the devil. (Gen 3:11, 17) Unfortunately people still disobey God and obey the devil, thereby affecting their relationship with God. Our fellowship with God is determined by how much we love Him and obey His Word. (John 14:23) The level of obedience to God created two categories of people with different levels of relationship with God- the people of the world and the believers (John 14:17-24)

God is the God of the whole world but Father to the believers in Christ Jesus. He relates to the people of the world as their maker and as a heavenly Father to the Christian believers. The World enjoys His drops of mercy and blessings but Christ followers enjoy showers of blessings. (Matt 5:45, Ezek 34:26).  God makes a clear cut demarcation between the people that serve Him and those that do not serve Him. (Mal 3:17-18)

God’s perfect will is that all mankind be totally restored back to Him. He desires to enjoy the original relationship He had with man with all mankind. This is why He sent His son Jesus Christ that whosoever believes in Him and is a doer of His Word will be reconciled back to Him. (2Cor 5:19) God desires that man assumes his original dominion on earth, walking in the precepts of God.

Man’s relationship with God can be improved. This can be built up by making Jesus the Lord of your life (Eph 2:13, 18) and fellowshipping with Him in His Word and in prayers. (Acts 20:32) God longs to shower His love on all mankind but He can only do so to them that give Him access into their lives. Man having been made in God’s likeness has the will to choose who to serve. And God cannot violate man’s will.

A good relationship with God is what everyone needs to enjoy the life He has given to man. Life without God is a life full of misery and sorrow. Total peace can only come from God. But the choice is yours to make.

Saints of God, WHAT IN HELL DO YOU WANT?!

Saints of God, WHAT IN HELL DO YOU WANT?!
Revelation chapter 21:verse 8
By Evangelist Ella Townsend

When I was growing up, there was a phrase used when someone you didn’t really like would continuously annoy you by calling out your name for whatever reason. And when they had just gotten on your last half of nerve, they could expect to hear your angry response, after calling out your name for the last time… “What in hell do you want?”

One of my favorite preachers back in the day, was the late Rev. Leo Daniels, out of Houston, Texas, who preached a sermon titled “What In Hell Do You Want”. To be honest, I can’t recall the content of his sermon, because I have not heard the sermon since 1989. But what was most important for me to remember, and it has stuck in my mind over all these years, is the scripture passage that he used, Revelation chapter 20:verses 13c, 14, & 15, which reads: “… And they were judged every man according to their works. And death and hell were cast into the lake of fire. This is the second death. And anyone who was not found in the Book of Life was cast into the lake of fire.” … sermon’s title, “What in Hell Do You Want?”….

In Second Timothy chapter 3, Paul forewarns all of us who are called Christians, by the precious name of our Lord Jesus Christ, “ that in the last days, perilous (dangerous) times will come, because men will be lovers of themselves, lovers of money, boasters, proud, blasphemers, disobedient to parents, unthankful, unholy, unloving, unforgiving, slanderers. Without self-control, brutal, despisers of good, traitors, headstrong, haughty, lovers of pleasure rather than lovers of God … hav-ing a FORM of godliness but denying its power. And from such people TURN away!”

In case some of you don’t know, our last days started the moment Jesus Christ was born on this earth, and we have been living in perilous times from that day forward. No one is exempt, all we need to do is step out of denial, and look all around us in our homes, our schools, our cities, our different levels of local, state, and federal governments. Yes, these perilous times are within our walls and systems of living, education, and governments, from the white house to the outhouse. And we are also seeing and experiencing first hand the greatest effects of these perilous times in our churches, among spiritual leaders those who are suppose to be the “called and chosen” of God, to lead His people in righteousness.

The church (building and body) is the one place where we are suppose to be safe, find peace, love, joy and fellowship with one another strengthening our faith. The church is suppose to be the place wherein the weary, the lonely, the sick, the brokenhearted, and the cast-down can come, and find comfort and rest under the shadow of God’s wings. The church is the place where those who are Christians and are in sins, and those who are lost and don’t know Jesus Christ, are to come, so that they might come to their senses through the hearing of the preaching and teaching of the gospel of Jesus Christ. And come to repentance for the forgiveness of their sins.

Many good things take place in the church, that has been set aside for worship, offering of praise to God, and for the preaching and teaching of God’s Holy Word. The church building, is where the real church of the Lord, the body of Christ, gathers in one accord under the spiritual leadership of those faithful and godly men and women who are “called and chosen” as pastors, under shepherds, overseers, bishops, apostles, teachers, and prophets. Whom God Himself has place in the church, to watch over His sheep, for “the perfecting (training and equipping) of the saints, for the works of the ministry; and for the edifying of the body of Christ; through the teaching and preaching of the gospel of Jesus Christ. Until we ALL (not Y’all), but ALL come into a oneness of faith and knowledge of God’s Son. (Ephesians chapter 4).

But, too often, what we are finding in the church(building and body) is unrest, and the weary are burden down with more problems of what is going on in the church among the spiritual leaders and the members, than what they themselves go through at home or on their jobs. What we are finding is that the brokenhearted are even more broken in the church, and those Christians who are in their sins continue to sins even the more, along side of the spiritual leaders who have been set over the church by God. And the lost who don’t know Jesus Christ, don’t care if they do or don’t come to know Him, because of what they see that is going on in the church building, and among those who are the body of Christ, the living church of God.

We are finding satan’s penthouse set up in all of its glory in the church. And many church folks are the servants in attendance, from the pulpit to the choir stands, from the door of the church to the altar. The church is filled with satan’s ministers of light, regardless of how deem or how bright their lights might so shine. These are they who are busy doing satan’s work under the disguise of being “saved” in Jesus’ name. And these are they, who are suppose to be placed in authority in the church by God to guide and lead us, but they themselves need guidance and leadership, because they are lovers of themselves, lovers of money, boastful, proud, unloving, unthankful, unholy, and many are practicing homosexuality, adultery, fornication, idolatry, stealing, lying, headstrong, and the list goes on.

Revelation chapter 21:verse 8, makes it plain: “But the cowardly, unbelieving, abominable, murderers, sexually immoral, sorcerer, idolaters, and ALL LIARS, shall have their place in the lake that burns with fire and brimstone, which is the second death.” So, I ask you today, Saints of God, What In Hell Do You Want?

Jesus says it like this, in Matthew chapter 7: verses 19-27: Every tree that does not bear good fruit is cut down and thrown into the fire. Therefore by their fruits (deeds) you shall know them. Not everyone who says to Me, ‘Lord, Lord,’ will enter the kingdom of heaven, but the person who does the will of My Father in heaven. Many will say to Me in that day, ‘Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in Your name, and cast out demons in Your name, and done many wonders in Your name?’ And then I will declare to them, I never knew you. Depart from Me you who practice lawlessness.” Listen to what Jesus says , I “never knew you”, He does not say, I once knew you , but you have changed. But He says, I “Never”, which is a strong word.

The body of Christ is burden down with the accusations that one of our spiritual leaders Bishop Eddie Long, has been charged with claims of alleged sexual immorality by four young boys from his church. It has been reported, and we have seen, and he himself has boasted about the Presidents and world leaders he has met and knows, and about the many great things he has done in his church and in his community, and for others all over the world. But Only God, Bishop, and the boys know the truth, about whether or not these alleged charges that have been filed against him are true. And ONLY God keep very excellent records therefore, it matters not who Bishop knows or who he has met, or what he has done for the church, or for others in his community or over the world.

If these claims and charges are of a truth, God’s Word will never (there’s that word again) return back to Him void, Bishop will be punished by God for his sinful deeds. It would be a very sad things for Bishop to hear Jesus say in that great day of the Lord, “Depart from Me, I NEVER knew you.” Prayerfully, in due season we will all know the truth of these claims, if the Lord sees fit to say the same. Until such time, we are exhorted by God to prayer for the Bishop and those young men , as they too are God’s children, and need prayer and deliverance.

If we believe what Paul writes and exhorts in I & II Timothy, and in the book of Titus, that Bishops, pastors, elders, prophets, overseers, deacons, and ALL spiritual leaders in the church are to have good reputations in the presence of those in the church, and those who are not saved outside the church. If we believe God has called spiritual leaders in the church to a higher accountability and a higher standard, and they will be judged by a higher standard for their sins, and that they are to be blameless and without rebuke. Then, I can’t help but wonder, what part of Paul’s letters to Timothy and Titus, the Bishop did not understand?

It also leaves me with the questions, as to why the good Bishop fail to respect and take responsibility for his leadership role and position of authority with these young men. And why he did not take a female or a mature male companion along with him, or even his own son on these trips, as not to be alone with these young boys, in order to protect himself, and prevent claims such as these against him, if this is of a truth.

If these claims are truth, then one must ask, why was the Bishop not practicing what God’s Word teaches, and what he preaches? And why does the bishop, even now, think it nothing to embarrass the body of Christ, and cause shame to the church of God, and cause the enemies of the Lord to blaspheme the Word of God and His name? Why would Bishop Long so boldly be in disobedience, and expect others to follow his teachings in obedience. Why didn’t Bishop Long follow the directives laid out by Paul, to “shun or abstain from the very appearance of evil,?” Why is the good Bishop being headstrong and in disobedience before God and the church, and has not felt it spiriutally proper for him sit down until these things pass over?

These are perilous times in the body of Christ, because many of our very own spiritual leaders whom God has set over the church to protect us, have become, many are becoming, and many are already lovers of themselves, defiant, headstrong, unholy, lovers of money, boasters, and proud.

But, I charge you, Bishop Eddie Long to, Let this mind be in you that was also in Christ Jesus. Be humble, don’t leave New Birth with the painful task of doing as Paul has order the church to do in, I Corinthians chapters 5-6. Nor should you give opportunity for further shame and embarrassment of claims to come up against you to sit you down. Be wise, as It is spiritually important and correct that you be humble, and with humility please, take your seat until this is over … What In Hell Do You Want?!

“Pastor” William Bendert allegedly caught red handed by FBI

By admin, 26 September, 2010, No Comment

SCARY! What a disgusting jerk. I cannot imagine any human being hurting a child. And he allegedly wanted the MOTHER of that child present during his destruction. Keep in mind that HE is the father of a daughter. Sick, sick, sick.
